Work+: Working Learner Pathway

Stage: Build your own Work+

l

Audience: Students

Summary

The Work+ Pathway supplements the working learner experience by providing content around a number of important career development topics. The modules are broken into three levels with each level building and expanding on the previous. The pathway supports working learners to better understand and identify the skills and competencies they are building in their student employment and how best to articulate those skills, as well as the ability to manage their career development related to their particular career interests. To make the most of the pathway, we recommend that working learners complete the modules and levels in order.

Work+ Pathway: LEVEL 1

Level 1 kicks off a working learner's pathway and is focused on helping them to dive deeper into the career competencies, identify how they are developing those in their current student employment experience and brainstorm additional opportunities to help them level-up their skills.

Work+ Pathway: LEVEL 2

Level 2 focuses on the working learner's ability to articulate their competencies and skills. Storytelling is a key component of this second step and is leveraged as a tool to support working learners in their professional growth and awareness. The modules will share the power of storytelling and engage working learners in crafting and refining their own professional story.

Work+ Pathway: Level 3

Level 3 capitalizes on the career management skills a working learner has developed and encourages them to leverage these skills on an ongoing basis. Activities in level 3 support the working learner to dive deeper into their career interests so they may focus their professional development on the skills and experiences most relevant to the steps they intend to take post-completion.
