Upcoming Cohorts
Hello Work+Collective partners!
We are very excited to open applications for the 5th cohort of participants in The Work+Collective Institute. We invite you to become a part of this phenomenal group of people that are redesigning student employment across the country!
The Work+Collective welcomes institutions to submit their interest for the next cohort by submitting this form. Forms are due by April 21st, 2025.
Details about the institute and expectations are included below.
The Work+Collective Institute will be a 7 week commitment with 5 virtual sessions and 4 individual institution coaching calls between May–June 2025:
- • Organize & Lead a “Core Campus Team”: Each institution participating is responsible for identifying and managing a core team of 2–3 individuals for this virtual institute experience and the work taking place at your campus. These individuals should represent units/offices familiar with on-campus student employment (directly or indirectly) and can actively contribute to Institute conversations. One of these individuals will serve as the primary liaison to The Work+Collective team for all communication, planning and implementation needs. This person should also be in a leadership capacity with regard to moving the work forward at your respective institution.
- • Attend Virtual Sessions: The entire core team members must be available to attend the 5 virtual sessions (we recommend those submitting to participate block time on their calendars in advance), an introduction call with their coach prior to May 7, and follow-up coaching calls between sessions:
- ◦ Session 1 – Monday, May 12th from 10am–11:30am AZ
- ◦ Session 2 – Wednesday, May 14th from 10am–11:30am AZ
- ◦ Session 3 – Tuesday, June 10th from 10am–11:30am AZ
- ◦ Session 4 – Monday, June 16th from 10am–11:30am AZ
- ◦ Session 5 – Thursday, June 26th from 10am–11:30am AZ
- • Establish Campus “Discovery Team”: The core team is responsible for identifying and recruiting a minimum of 5–7 individuals (in addition to the core team) from across their institution to participate in user listening sessions and who can also contribute to continuing the work with the core team following the institute. The Discovery Team must be available for in-person user listening sessions on a date determined by the core team.
- • Facilitate and Participate in User Listening Sessions and Mapping: User Listening Sessions will be scheduled by the core team and will need to take place between Session 2 and Session 3. The core team will need to identify 4–6 student employees and 4–6 student employment supervisors to be interviewed by the core team and discovery team. The goal is to get to know the experiences of students who may be facing the more nuanced challenges and how we can best design opportunities for them to be successful. Following the listening sessions, the core team and discovery team will work together on “mapping” in order to disseminate the interviews. User Listening Sessions and Mapping will require a 5–6 hour time commitment from the core and discovery teams.
- • Connect with Peer Institutions: After the completion of the institute, all partners will be asked to engage in 1 to 2 follow-up connections directly with The Work+Collective team focused on capturing a high-level overview of their experience and the progress they have made with their work.
- • Contribute to a National Conversation: Each institution will also be asked to contribute ‘artifacts’ of their work to the collective. These artifacts can be many different things, but all would be potentially beneficial to other institutions who may be seeking to do similar work.
